78 Years of Dumbarton Oaks Park
Saturday, April 13, 2019
9:00 am – 1:00 pm Volunteering
11:00 am – 12:30 pm Master Planning Exercise
The gates of Dumbarton Oaks Park officially opened to the public on April 14, 1941. To mark this anniversary, each year, the public, partners and volunteers come together to celebrate the legacy of Dumbarton Oaks Park.
Please come join us, on this day, with the unfurling of Spring: drifts of bulbs line the farm track road and meadows, a sweep of green is emerging as this carefully designed wild garden comes into bloom.
Volunteers are invited to engage in much needed Spring projects in the meadows. And, we will be jumping into an on-site Master Planning exercise to explore placement of Farrand designed site furniture to mark important views and vistas.
All are welcome to join.
Wear your garden gear. DOPC will provide water, gloves, tools and refreshments.
