Thank you National Trust for Historic Preservation and American Express Foundation for including Dumbarton Oaks Park in the Partners in Preservation Campaign! The Partners in Preservation announced the funding distribution this morning with all of the 24 sites in DC, Virginia and Maryland being awarded money toward their preservation projects. Your support helped Dumbarton Oaks Park Conservancy secure an award of $50,000 toward the $75,000 needed to repair the stonework in Rock Creek Park and Dumbarton Oaks Park Conservancy’s Signature Project area, the first 2 acres of the Park. The grant will help repair the East Falls Dam and Viewing Platform, the Old Stone Pump House, and other stonework in the project area. These dollars compliment the $100,000 you already helped us raise; the $50,000 matching Grant from the National Park Foundation and the $50,000 which many of you have supported!

Everyone is invited to stay involved in restoring this hidden treasure which was almost erased by stormwater and invasive plants. Join us in Park workdays, fundraising and friend-raising campaigns, become a tour guide to help inform visiting public about the history of the Park and do keep posting photographs and sharing the Park with your friends over social media.
